Claudin Poyant is a professional photographer who does very fine work interpreting scenes and places on Cape Cod.
Yesterday, on a sentimental trip to Onset and Wareham, I had a chance to spend some time visiting my old friend, Claudin, who shares my enthusiasm for photography.
Claudin was a friend of my father, Ernst, who mentored Claudin in his early efforts to develop his photographic art. Claudin trained in the arts, and is a painter as well as a fine art photographer; his training shows in the quality and vision of his work. He has spent the last several years working on marketing his images. During the time I have known him, his images have gotten clearer and stronger, and are proving very popular. I took away some ideas for marketing my own work, and an increased respect for Claudin's vision, integrity, and success. If you are in Wareham (mainland side of the Cape Cod Canal), be sure to see his work at Images Studio-Gallery, 72r Main St Wareham (near Tobey Hospital).
I also noted that Wareham has become somewhat of a hotbed for the arts, with several art galleries in addition to Claudin's studio and gallery. I contrast that with Salem, which is only now beginning to develop a plurality of venues for serious contemporary work.
